9 out of 10 Losses for the Sox - Good Thing it's Spring Training

With a little over a week left before Opening Day the Red Sox haven't exactly assuaged our fears about their lack of offensive. They also haven't bolstered our confidence in our strong starting rotation. Yesterday the Sox lost their ninth game out of the last ten and featured a paltry two hits and some horrendous starting pitching from Clay Buchholz.

On Monday, we were treated to Boof Bonser and various others relievers get crushed by the Tampa Bay Rays. At least in that game the Red Sox scored 9 runs but it wasn't enough to beat the 11 runs the Rays had. Mark my words, the Rays are going to be a huge thorn in the Red Sox' side this year.

Today Josh Beckett takes the mound against the Pirates again. (And boy, do I love the headlines when the Sox play the Pirates! "Josh Beckett and the Red Sox Prepare to Battle the Pirates" is a good one. Avast me matey!") When Beckett faced the Pirates last Friday he was still battling the effects of the flu and the result wasn't pretty. Let's cross our fingers that he can turn things around today.
