In a game that started off with a ceremony for the Canadian Olympic hockey players, the Bruins lost a game to the Montreal Canadiens that did not include a 60 minute effort. Milan Lucic and Blake Wheeler were the only goal scorers for the B's, one of them coming to late. At the point of the second goal (scored by Lucic), Montreal was still leading by a goal and the B's could not catch up in the last 9 minutes of the game. This loss comes as a disappointment, as the Bruins had an opportunity to move ahead in the standings with the win. Montreal was able to pull off this win with a goal in the first that was misread by Tukka Rask. After this goal, the Bruins were never able to catch back up and therefore ended up with this loss.
The game was heated and there were moments of physicality from both sides, but again there was no 60 minute effort to show for it. The next game for the Bruins is against the Devils on Monday night at 7:00 pm.
