Basic Rules of Hygiene: Wash Your Hands Often and Don't Share Water Bottles

Josh Beckett had a rough outing against the Pirates on Friday afternoon. It turns out he's not entirely recovered from the flu that struck him down last weekend. He reportedly spent 3 days in bed battling a fever of 100 degrees and lost 3-4lbs. When he was asked by a reporter what may have caused the illness he said "I'm sure it's just a lot of guys getting illnesses in the clubhouse. We can tough it out for a day, but you go to the weight room, all the bottles of water look the same. You end up drinking someone's bottle of water, next thing you know five, six guys are sick on the team."

In my son's preschool class they write their names on their water bottles. It seems to work well. Time for the Red Sox to break out their magic markers and start paying attention to who's water bottle is who's. Because after watching Papelbon take a beating in today's game, I think the flu has claimed its next victim.
