In a full 60 minute minute effort game, the Bruins pull off a 5-2 win against the the Carolina Huricanes. Each B's goal was scored by a different person: Patrice Bergeron, Johnny Boychuck, Mark Recchi, Michael Ryder, and David Krejci. The Bruins also got 30 saves from Tuukka Rask. Mark Recchi's goal was the 560th of his career and tied him at 22nd on the all time list with Guy Lafleur.Erik Cole was the only person who scored for Carolina, scoring 2 goals in the game. After the second goal the 'Canes followed with a flurry of shots, Tuukka Rask turning down all of them. "Rask had some pretty good saves on the chances that we did get," Carolina coach Paul Maurice said. "Just that puck movement from the back end to the forwards is such a critical piece against a hard forechecking team."
Notes: Bergeron left the ice late in the game with an injury after taking a puck off his leg, but Julien said the injury was not deemed serious. "The prognosis is it's a bruise," he said. Marc Savard missed his fifth consecutive game for Boston with a concussion. Paul Maurice coached his 800th game for the Hurricanes' franchise. Carolina D Joni Pitkanen played his 400th NHL game. Carolina's Jamie McBain assisted on Cole's first goal, giving McBain a point in his first NHL game.
